I take Hillary at her word that she is not a Republican

For some time now, I've been concerned that Hillary Clinton might really be a Republican.

I know, I know. She says that she's a registered Democrat. Now, I've never actually seen her registration card. But I have no reason to doubt that she is really a Democrat, just like she says.

Well, actually, to be honest I maybe have a couple reasons to doubt it...

First, I heard somewhere that her father was a Republican, and that she was raised in a Republican household. That was the first time that alarm bells started to go off in my head.

Then, when she voted to authorize George Bush to use military force in Iraq, the thought flashed through my mind -- isn't that something a Republican would do?

Same thing when she voted for the Kyl/Lieberman amendment. Or when she talked about how Iran is a growing threat to our nation. Just a hint of doubt entered my mind.

I confess that I've also seen some photographs which also made me slightly troubled. Pictures of her laughing and smiling with Bush, for example. Pictures of her speaking at Wal-Mart board meetings. Little things like that.

And then there was that email I received, which noted that her campaign guru, Mark Penn, is business partners with John McCain's campaign guru. That seemed a little funny to me. I also found it odd how Clinton is always saying how she's "ready on day one" to be President, when McCain's website also says he's "ready to lead on day one."

Similarly, when Hillary talks one day of being proud to be in the same contest as Barack, and then the next days says "Shame on him," I am reminded of how Republicans so often say one thing Sunday, and do the opposite on Monday.

But Hillary says she's a Democrat, and that ought to be good enough for me. Yes, I take Hillary Clinton at her word that she is not a Republican.

I take Hillary at her word that she is not a MAN (2.00 / 2)

You know, I've been wondering...

She suspiciously shares the name "Clinton" with the world famous Bill Clinton, a MAN.

And she's a senator... hasn't that been called "an old BOY's club"?

And then there's the haircut... hell, I've had hair longer than than.

Kinda makes you wonder.

Funny, but I suspect you're going to get some flack for that comment from the anti-misogynists brigade.

Fortunately I'm wearing my flack jacket.

And at least my wife has a sense of humor.

I still take Hillary at her word (2.00 / 2)

Even though I just remembered that she was a Barry Goldwater volunteer in the 1960s, and that Rupert Murdoch considers her a good friend.

Rupert Murdoch? (2.00 / 1)

Murdoch's paper, the NY Post, RIPS HER APART AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.  So much for that bogus claim, and so much for this bogus diary.

I've got news for you on another front:  Many people become members of a given political party out of defiance against their parents.  In other words, if the parents are GOP, they are often likely to ultimately take the opposite political viewpoint.

Re: I take Hillary at her word that she is not a R (2.00 / 1)

Remember that time she wore a green pantsuit? Isn't green also the color of the Irish?

Can we be 100% certain that Hillary Clinton is not a leprechaun, magnified by optic technology well beyond our human understanding? Could this entire election be a plot to hoard the world's gold reserves at the end of the rainbow?

Maybe, maybe not. Hillary has denied being a leprechaun, so I take her at her word. She is certainly not a leprechaun, as far as I know.

Seems a shame that Fitzgerald is not going to take his word for it.

Okay guys, look, I'm willing to be reasonable here. I am willing to take Hillary at her word that she is not actually a late model GMC pickup truck. As an Obama supporter, I will stand up and declare to the world that I take her at her word, and as far as I know, she does not actually have 350 horsepower under that pantsuit.

Laughing so hard I'm tearing up. Too bad she doesn't have 350 hp, Monicagate wouldn't have happened.

Also, I don't expect her to tell us... (none / 0)

... when she stopped beating her husband.
